Easy Honey Thyme Cheddar Drop Biscuits




 

INGREDIENTS

1 Cup Cold Oat Milk (Any other milk will work too)

8 Tablespoons Cold Butter Chunks

2 Cups All Purpose Flour (or Bob’s Redmill 1:1 Gf Flour)

1 Teaspoon Honey

1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda

2 Teaspoons Baking Powder

1 Teaspoon Flakey Salt (3/4 Teaspoon regular sea salt)

1 3/4 cup finely shredded Cheddar Cheese (I used non dairy mexican Blend)

1 Teaspoon Thyme Leaves

 

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat Oven to 400°

  2. Combine all dry ingredients and cheese in a bowl and whisk together.

  3. Add Cold butter and Honey use a pastry cutter to “cut” it into the dry ingredients (don’t over mix: should be very lumpy) if you don’t have a pasty cutter, use a wooden spoon to chop it into the mixture.

  4. slowly add milk as you are mixing entire mixture with a fork and mix until the flour is incorporated and mixture is very lumpy

  5. Shape into balls with your hands and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 7-10 mins, remove when they are a little gooey, but browned on top.

  6. let them cool.. as they cool they will continue baking and will get the flakey texture that you desire!

  7. Top with flakey salt and serve!
